Breaking the Silence

The Breaking The Silence Project addresses the mental health impact of Hyperemesis Gravidarum for sufferers.

In April 2026, we invited sufferers to join us and share their experiences first hand, and they have bravely agreed to share their stories with the world. HG does not just affect pregnancy. It affects identity, safety, relationships, parenting, mental health and future choices. Sufferers need early treatment, validation, practical help and trauma-informed support.

Their stories are powerful, moving and relatable – and they have a message. If HG has affected your mental health, this is not a reflection of your strength or your ability to cope—it is an understandable response to living through a severe, debilitating and potentially traumatic illness.

If you feel your mental health has been impacted by HG and you would like support for this, please reach out to our support team on 08000554361 or contact our counselling team.
