A Month to Change Minds

What do we want to change?

Following the tragic case of Jessica Cronshaw and Baby Elsie Leck, hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) was highlighted in Parliament and included in the Women’s Health Strategy, with promises to improve maternal mental health services and establish women’s health hubs. Yet, these commitments have not translated into real change, and HG sufferers remain overlooked.

A Month to Change Minds is our call to action. Through political engagement, public awareness, and fundraising, we’re pushing for urgent improvements in HG care while continuing to support those who need us. With the launch of Jess and Elsie’s documentary, real stories at the heart of this campaign, and a national movement for change, we are demanding that HG is recognised as the severe and traumatic condition it is.

HG sufferers remain excluded from the services they desperately need. It is time to recognise HG as a form of perinatal trauma and ensure that women receive the care and support they deserve.

The problem

  • Current Services Are Insufficient
  • HG needs to be recognised as trauma
  • Inequitable Access
  • Systemic Dismissal

Our plan

  • Establish HG-Specific Mental Health pathways
  • Train healthcare professionals in HG and reframe the condition as a trauma
  • Advocate for National physical and mental health pathways
  • Raise funds so we can continue to support sufferers with the mental health via our established services

For too long, hyperemesis gravidarum has been dismissed as ‘just morning sickness,’ leaving thousands of women without the care and support they desperately need. Our A Month to Change Minds campaign is about breaking that cycle—reframing HG as the severe, life-altering condition it is, demanding better pathways in healthcare, and ensuring that no woman is left to suffer in silence. By sharing real stories, driving political action, and increasing public awareness, we are pushing for meaningful change in Jess and Elsie’s legacy and for every HG sufferer today and in the future.

The Jess & Baby Elsie Story

The Price of Inadequacy – Hyperemesis and the Failure of Care – Coming soon

This powerful documentary shares the heartbreaking story of Jessica Cronshaw and Baby Elsie Leck, exposing the devastating impact of hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) and the failures in maternal healthcare that contributed to their tragic loss.

Through A Month to Change Minds, we are sharing Jess’s story to drive real change—demanding better care pathways, improved mental health support, and recognition of HG as a serious and traumatic pregnancy condition. The documentary will be at the heart of our campaign, raising awareness among policymakers, healthcare professionals, and the public while pushing for action in Parliament.

This isn’t just a film—it’s a call to action.
