This course is delivered in 4 parts.
Part 1 – Introduction to NVP & Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG): In this lesson, Community & Engagement Manager Lindsay Salmon provides an introduction to Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG), explaining the difference between HG and typical pregnancy sickness (nausea and vomiting in pregnancy).
Part 2 – Aetiology, Practical Management, Complications, and Tackling Myths and Barriers to Care: In this lesson, Dr Melanie Nana provides a thorough overview of the aetiology of the condition, practical management and diagnostic tools with clear pathways for professionals to implement.
Part 3 – Understanding HG: Impact, Treatment Decisions and the Role of Healthcare Professionals: In this lesson, Dr Cathy Nelson Piercy uncovers the impact of this condition on pregnant people and provides actionable treatment decisions, case studies and the impact HCPs can have in treatment and support.
Part 4 – HG & Mental Health: In this lesson, Lindsay Salmon concludes the training with insights, data and lived experience impact of HG on people’s mental health.
The course can be taken all at once or you can pause and return to continue a subsequent part. Please note that you cannot pause and return to a specific part of the video once you have started, that session you will need to complete it.
This course is designed to give an in-depth overview for any healthcare professional who treats or supports women and birthing people with Hyperemesis Gravidarum and pregnancy sickness.
